"Driving down those city streets waiting to get down
Won't you get your big machine somewhere in this town?"
I was compelled to get online this morning and listen to this 1981 song. I am now compelled to post it to this blog. No, it's not exactly a traveling tune... more of a summer-in-the-city kind of thing. 100 degrees in the shade and counting. Ladies & gentlemen, Grace Jones!
Via the Telegraph: Hula-hooping topless at 74, Grace Jones launches Meltdown with a thrilling sense of danger
Well now, you be in a rocking mood! Great songs by a great singer! Hope you survive the heat -- we have yet to have summer really appear.
ReplyDeleteNo... not rocking. More like burning in hell. ;-)
DeleteSeriously, I'm in an androgynous state of mind and Grace Jones represents a deliciously guilty pleasure.
An androgyny (Hermaphrodite Lite) walks a very difficult tightrope; Grace Jones does it with finesse. She's a warrior goddess. Every artist - that is, all the butch girls & all the elegant boys - should bask in her radiance. :-)
PS She's empowering.
DeletePPS Your summer will appear, BG. And, then, you'll wish it was autumn! ;-)
